THE GREEN CHAIR

The Green Chair Project, nestled in Raleigh, North Carolina, stands as a beacon of hope for individuals and families navigating the challenging path out of homelessness, crisis, or disaster. Since its inception in 2010, this non-profit organization has left an indelible mark, serving over 24,000 individuals and 8,167 households with essential home furnishings.

At the heart of The Green Chair Project's success lies its extensive network of partnerships, encompassing over 120 local nonprofits, government agencies, schools, and community organizations. Together, they identify those most in need and ensure that their homes are furnished with care and compassion. Donations are welcomed with open arms, facilitated through a convenient online pickup service tailored for Wake County residents.

In October 2023, a new chapter unfolded as Rae Marie Czuhai stepped into the role of Chief Executive Officer, succeeding co-founder Jackie Craig. With a firm commitment to the organization's core values, Czuhai brings fresh perspectives and renewed energy to propel The Green Chair Project forward. Community donations, alongside participation in the State Employees Combined Campaign in North Carolina, serve as the lifeblood of this vital initiative.

The mission of The Green Chair Project is succinct yet powerful: "Furnish Homes. Change Lives." This ethos underscores their dedication to providing a dignified shopping experience for clients, empowering them to handpick household items that reflect their unique preferences and aspirations. Through this transformative process, The Green Chair Project not only furnishes homes but also ignites a sense of pride and belonging, fostering welcoming environments where individuals and families can thrive.

Rooted in the principles of community cooperation and collective responsibility, The Green Chair Project epitomizes the spirit of compassion and solidarity. With each donation and every act of kindness, they reaffirm their unwavering commitment to supporting those in need, embodying the belief that together, we can create lasting change and transform lives for the better.
