Shelter to Home, an outreach program of Highlands United Church

Shelter to Home is a not-for-profit outreach program of Highlands United Church, located in North Vancouver, BC. Established in 2008, the program aims to assist individuals transitioning from homelessness to independent living by providing them with gently used furniture and household items at no cost. The initiative is driven by volunteers and relies on donations from the community. Shelter to Home offers several key services:

Furniture and Household Items: Shelter to Home accepts donations of gently used furniture and household items from North Shore residents. Items must be in good condition and suitable for smaller accommodations. The organization does not accept items with advertising logos or those that are torn, cracked, stained, or threadbare.

Cash Donations: Monetary contributions are also welcomed to cover storage and moving costs. Tax receipts are provided for donations over $25.

How to Donate:

Household Items: Donors can contact the donation line at 778-331-8465 to arrange drop-off details. Volunteers will return calls to coordinate the process.
Furniture: Furniture donations are accepted only from North and West Vancouver locations. Donors are encouraged to deliver items to the storage facility, but pickup can be arranged if necessary, with a suggested donation to cover moving expenses.
