Chattanooga Furniture Bank
The idea for a furniture storehouse in Chattanooga to assist people in transition surfaced in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. By 2010, that idea became a reality. The first-year goal was to help 100 families. The actual number helped was more than 300.
Today, the Chattanooga Furniture Bank continues to help more than 30 families every month to make a house or apartment a home by providing gently-used furniture at no cost to qualified individuals and families. Since 2012, Goodwill and the United Way of Greater Chattanooga have worked together to create a furniture repository to assist people in need.
